TESTIMONIALS

Maggie Yao
“Interning with CWT provided me with the opportunity to learn more about an area that I was already passionate about: the mental health field. Whether it was through the client interactions I had during screenings or the administrative work done for the providers, all of these experiences offered me valuable skills that I will take with me along my journey toward becoming a licensed mental health professional. CWT emphasizes an important mission statement, and the team undoubtedly exemplifies that. I absolutely recommend those with similar passions and goals to consider working with this organization!”

Melanie Yarian
“Interning at California Women’s Therapy was an incredible experience because it allowed me to gain insight into the mental health field and hone in on my career goals. In addition, the CWT internship program can be structured in a way that meets your interests and needs. For example, I was able to receive academic credit for my internship. Everyone on the CWT team is incredibly open and supportive! During this internship, I learned how clients can receive therapeutic services from a group practice and how to approach the deeply personal conversations that arise during initial screening calls. I also learned about a variety of mental health resources, the intake process, and psychological licensing/statutes. As an aspiring clinician, seeing the administrative side of the field provided me with valuable insight, and I believe that my internship experience prepared me to become a Counseling Psychology graduate student. Non-clinical internships in this field are few and far between, so I would recommend this program to anyone who is committed to exploring their career options in the mental health field!”

Rhianne Ayer
“I have really enjoyed interning at CWT this summer. Everyone has been super kind and helpful to me and I have also loved getting to assist with different tasks/projects to better introduce me to the world of psychology. This has helped me gain useful skills I have been able to utilize in the outside world to gain positions continuing my path down the mental health field. I would recommend anyone to take the opportunity to get involved especially if you are someone looking for different ways to grow in this field.”
