Psychological Associates

All of our Psychological Associates are registered with the California Board of Psychology and meets the requirements of section 2913 of the California Business and Professions Code. 

The standard session rates for our Psychological Associates ranges from $100 to $150 per session.

Postdoctoral Psychological Associates

Our postdoctoral Psychological Associates (or “postdocs,” for short) are pre-licensed psychologists with doctoral degrees in psychology who are accruing their postdoctoral hours towards becoming independently licensed.

Our postdocs are working under the direct supervision of our Director of Clinical Training, Dr. Talia Barach. They receive additional supervision & training from other members of our clinical supervisory team: Dr. Laura Ruaro, Dr. Christina Zavalza, Dr. Deepti Vaswani, Dr. Theresa Cao, and our owner & founder, Dr. Jordyn Trockman.

Dr. Marie Diaz

Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from California Southern University

Bachelor’s of Science in Education with a major in English Literature and dual minors in Speech & Public Speaking from University of Santo Tomas (Saint Thomas) in the Philippines

Dr. Marie is currently accepting new clients.

Dr. Marie Diaz holds a Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from California Southern University, and she is currently accruing her postdoctoral hours towards licensure as a Psychologist under the supervision of CWT’s Director of Clinical Training, Dr. Talia Barach (PSY #29581).

Dr. Marie earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Education with a major in English Literature and dual minors in Speech and Public Speaking from University of Santo Tomas (Saint Thomas) in the Philippines. Additionally, she earned a Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Phoenix.

Dr. Marie was born and raised in the Philippines, later migrated to the UK, and eventually moved to California — where she met her husband of 28 years.  Dr. Marie’s passion for helping others began at a very young age.  Over the years, she worked to feed, clothe, and educate underprivileged children in remote areas of the Philippines, and she frequently cooked for the Santa Monica shelter for battered women.  As a young woman, she toured Europe as a singer in pop cover bands and still enjoys singing.  Her other hobbies include painting, drawing, cooking, and gardening.  

Dr. Marie is especially keen on working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma and other stress-related disorders. She has received basic training in EMDR therapy from Hope International University, and she is currently working on her EMDR certification.

Dr. Marina Marcus

Dr. Marina Marcus holds a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University, and she is currently accruing her postdoctoral hours towards licensure as a Psychologist under the supervision of CWT’s Director of Clinical Training, Dr. Talia Barach (PSY #29581).

Dr. Marina was born in Ukraine and raised in Southern California. She has a passion for learning about diverse cultures and perspectives and has spent time traveling and living all over the world, including two years in rural Ethiopia as a Peace Corps Volunteer. Dr. Marina has a passion for social justice and increasing access to mental health services for people and communities who have experienced systemic oppression. 

As a therapist, Dr. Marina approaches each client with warmth, openness and authenticity, and her ultimate objective is to help each client to feel heard, equipped, and empowered as they work towards personal growth. Dr. Marina has experience working with adolescents and adults who are learning to cope with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis, stress, past trauma, major life transitions, relationship difficulties, and chronic medical conditions. She has training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), relational and psychodynamic models, and mindfulness practices. Dr. Marina works with each client to create a treatment plan that fits their unique situation and goals. 

Dr. Marina is a working mom with two small children and has first-hand experience with the responsibility and challenges that come with wearing multiple hats throughout the day. Additionally, she has completed the Maternal Mental Health Certificate Training for Mental Health and Clinical Professionals through Postpartum Support International. Her favorite activities are going on outdoor adventures with her family, dancing, cooking, and reading.

Our predocs are working under the direct supervision of at least one licensed psychologist from our clinical supervisory team and receive additional supervision & training from other members of our clinical supervisory team.

Viviana McKenney

Viviana is currently accepting new clients.

Viviana McKenney is pursuing a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from California Southern University and is working under the supervision of CWT’s Director of Clinical Training, Dr. Talia Barach (PSY #29581).

After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from California State University Northridge, she worked with adolescents at the Los Angeles County Probation Department who were struggling with addiction and reentry into society. She also has a Master’s in Legal and Forensic Psychology from the University of California, Irvine.

Viviana was born and raised in Chile and has been living in California since 2000. She has experience with issues of acculturation, addiction, anxiety, life transitions, and self-esteem. Viviana is looking forward to helping people from all walks of life.

Viviana has training in cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness approaches. She is a registered yoga teacher and certified Spanish medical interpreter. She enjoys staying active, spending time with her family, and trying new restaurants.

Ruby Corley

Ruby is currently accepting new clients.

Ruby Corley lives in Los Angeles and is currently a doctoral student in Clinical Psychology, with an emphasis on Depth Psychology, at Pacifica Graduate Institute, and is working under the supervision of two members of our CWT clinical supervisory team, Dr. Laura Ruaro (PSY #29974) and Dr. Theresa Cao (PSY # 30728).

After obtaining her Bachelors Degree in Women’s Studies from UCLA and deciding to continue her education, she gravitated towards specializing in women’s health and the treatment of trauma and addictions. Ruby has worked amongst a diverse set of populations including both adolescents and adults. Her personal experience with addiction and her more recent transformation into motherhood have been the biggest driving forces behind her passion for helping human beings find freedom, compassion, and wholeness. 

Along with her relational and psychodynamic approach to psychotherapy, Ruby is trained in EMDR and as a facilitator for Yoga in 12-Step Recovery, Embodied Love Movement, and Breath-work. She combines various modalities in order to help connect and facilitate the process of growth, recovery, self-love, and empowerment. Ruby strives to continuously be of service in all areas of her life and “to bring light into the places and spaces where I used to try and find it.”
